Description

This crowd-pleasing no-boil crockpot Baked Ziti recipe is perfect for when you’re short on time but don’t want to sacrifice flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

2 (25 -28 ounce) jars of pasta sauce

15 oz tomato sauce

1 pound uncooked penne pasta

15 oz ricotta cheese

2 eggs

1/3 cup freshly chopped basil (or half in dry chopped basil)

2 cups of freshly grated parmesan cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a 6 qt slow cooker with Olive oil spray.  Grate the Parmesan cheese and set aside.
  2. Combine ricotta, half the Parmesan, the eggs, and basil in the crockpot, and stir well.
  3. Add both jars of pasta sauce and the tomato sauce and stir in the crockpot.
  4. Add penne and stir.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese on top (don’t stir it in).
  6. Cover the crockpot and cook on high for 2 1/2 hours
  7. During the last 30 minutes, add the mozzarella cheese to the top and allow to melt.
  8. Serve and top with additional parmesan cheese or red pepper flakes if you like a little spice.
